Bioswitchable Delivery of microRNA by Framework Nucleic Acids: Application to Bone Regeneration (Small 47/2021)

چکیده
Delivery System for microRNA In article number 2104359, Xiaoxiao Cai and co-workers present a tetrahedral framework nucleic acids-based delivery system miRNA. miRNA is protected extracellularly, efficiently released in response to intracellular RNase after cellular entrance. Similarly, Chinese philosophy “Chuang Tzu” portrayed the transformation of legendary fish “Kun” (protected microRNA) into bird “Peng” (released once passing through sea (cell membrane). Furthermore, heroic flying symbolizes broad biomedical applications this system.

Porous Silicon and Polymer Nanocomposites for Delivery of Peptide Nucleic Acids as Anti-MicroRNA Therapies.
Self-assembled polymer/porous silicon nanocomposites overcome intracellular and systemic barriers for in vivo application of peptide nucleic acid (PNA) anti-microRNA therapeutics. Porous silicon (PSi) is leveraged as a biodegradable scaffold with high drug-cargo-loading capacity. Functionalization with a diblock polymer improves PSi nanoparticle colloidal stability, in vivo pharmacokinetics, an...
متن کاملDelivery of Antisense Peptide Nucleic Acids to Cells by Conjugation with Small Arginine-Rich Cell-Penetrating Peptide (R/W)9
Peptide nucleic acids (PNAs) are very attractive antisense and antigene agents, but these molecules are not passively taken into cells. Here, using a functional cell assay and fluorescent-based methods, we investigated cell uptake and antisense activity of a tridecamer PNA that targets the HIV-1 polypurine tract sequence delivered using the arginine-rich (R/W)9 peptide (RRWWRRWRR). At micromola...

متن کاملMetabolism of Nucleic Acids during Regeneration of Wound Tissue*
The formation of regenerating wound tissue involves not only production of new cells but also synthesis of relatively large amounts of protein (l-5). From these facts, it may be inferred that while this new tissue is being formed, nucleic acid metabolism is probably different from that observed in normal animals. There has been some indication that this may be the situation for ribonucleic acid...
